Santiago 2023: Team Canada at the end of Day 0
SANTIAGO, CHILE (October 20, 2023) – Team Canada’s flag bearers Melissa Humana-Paredes and Brandie Wilkerson led the Canadian delegation into Estadio Nacional on Friday to officially kick off the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games at the Opening Ceremony.

DAY 0 HIGHLIGHTS:
- Boxing: Tammara Thibeault defeated Milena Altagracia Jimenez Castillo of the Dominican Republic in the Round of 16 of the women’s 75kg weight class to advance to the quarterfinals.
- Diving: Caeli McKay finished atop the women’s 10m platform preliminary round, scoring 343.95 for her five dives. McKay, along with fellow Canadian Celina Toth who placed 11th, will compete in tomorrow’s final.
