COC CONGRATULATES ALEX BILODEAU ON RETIREMENT
TORONTO – Today, the Canadian Olympic Committee issued the following statement of congratulations to three-time Olympian and two-time Olympic gold medallist, Alex Bilodeau on his retirement from freestyle skiing.
“Canada is so proud of Alex for his stellar career in freestyle skiing. He is a born leader, a true champion, and helped Canada show the world that we are a force to be reckoned with on the moguls. On behalf of everyone at the COC, we congratulate Alex on his outstanding career and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”

Alex Bilodeau’s Career Highlights:
- At Sochi 2014, Alex Bilodeau became the first Canadian man (and just the second Canadian athlete ever) to successfully defend an individual Olympic gold medal
- He also became the first freestyle skier in any discipline to win two Olympic gold medals
- Bilodeau will always have his place in the history books as the first Canadian athlete to ever win an Olympic gold medal on home soil
- 2010 and 2014 Olympic Champion (Moguls)
- 2011 and 2013 FIS World Silver Medallist (Moguls)
- Three-Time FIS World Champion (Dual Moguls)
- 2008-09 Crystal Globe Winner (Overall FIS World Cup Champion Men’s Freestyle Skiing)
