Felix Dolci

Biography

  • Helped Canada qualify a full men’s artistic gymnastics team for Paris 2024; the team finished fourth in qualification and seventh in the final at the 2023 FIG World Championships  
  • Qualified for two apparatus finals (floor exercise and horizontal bar) at the 2023 FIG World Championships
  • Represented Team Canada at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games where he won silver on rings and qualified the individual all-around final; first Canadian to win a men’s gymnastics medal at the Youth Olympic Games
  • Won two medals at the 2019 FIG Junior World Championships, gold on rings and silver on floor exercise; Canada’s first ever world junior champion in artistic gymnastics  
  • Made his senior world championship debut in 2021
  • Won four medals at the 2022 Pan American Championships: team bronze, all-around bronze, floor exercise bronze, vault silver
  • Won two medals at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, team silver and floor exercise silver; finished fourth in the individual all-around
  • In 2019 became the most decorated athlete in the history of the Canada Games with 11 career medals; won four gold and two silver, adding to the two gold and three silver he won in 2015 when he was just 12 years old

A Little More About Félix

Getting into the Sport: Started artistic gymnastics at age 5 and began competing in 2009… His parents had tried to get him interested in hockey and soccer but he needed a sport in which he could exert all of his energy… Outside Interests: Enjoys playing video games, fishing, water skiing… Odds and Ends: Role model is Japanese gymnastics legend Kohei Uchimura… Favourite motto: Train hard or go home!
