- As a junior, he was ranked No. 1 in the world for the mile in 1994 with his 3:59.29 and ranked 2nd over 1,500 metres in 1993 (3:39.43)

- Married former Canadian national team 3000-metre steeplechaser, Karen Harvey, in 1998
