Biography

Natasha LaBeaud has most recently represented Canada at 2015 IAAF World Cross-Country Championships. While attending Georgetown University, she qualified for the 2008 NCAA Championships in the 10,000m. She finished fourth in the 10,000m at the 2008 Big East Championships.

Family: Parents Lyle and Murielle LaBeaud… Younger brother Jonathan… Husband Marco Anzures is also her coach… Her mother is from Montreal… Holds dual Canadian-American citizenship… Getting into the Sport: Started running at age 6… Her elementary school advertised a school jog-a-thon and she was determined to run the most legs in the school, so she began training during recess and hasn’t stopped… Outside Interests: She and her husband co-founded the non-profit organization 2nd Recess which teaches kids aged 5-13 about healthy habits through running… Is a writer and account manager for a PR agency… Pursuing her PhD in public health at Walden University… Earned her B.A. in Psychology and her Masters in Journalism and Advocacy at Georgetown University… Odds and Ends: Nicknames: Tashy, Tash… Likes to eat certain foods, especially beets, before competition… Always travels with art supplies so she can doodle and draw on long flights… Collects Starbucks mugs from around the world… Favourite motto: “Positivity is key!”…
