Olivia Baril
Biography
Olivia Baril won her first national title in the women’s road race in 2024 after having been the runner-up in 2023. She placed second in the individual time trial in both 2023 and 2024. Baril made her debut at the UCI World Championships in 2022. The following year, she broke into the top-20 in the individual time trial, finishing as the top Canadian in the event in 19th place.
Baril began racing professionally in 2020. She earned her first victory in 2022, winning the Gran Premio Ciudad de Eibar. She successfully defended that title in 2023. Another highlight of her 2022 season was finishing first in the youth classification at the Tour de Suisse.
Baril competed in both the Tour de France Femmes and Giro D’Italia Donne for the first time in 2022, though she crashed out of the latter and needed 25 stitches in her knee. In her second Tour de France Femmes in 2023 she finished 29th in the general classification. In 2024, Baril finished third in the third stage of the Vuelta Espana Fememina.
