Prabdeep Sanghera

Biography

In her last year competing as a junior in 2013, Prabdeep Sanghera won gold at the junior Commonwealth Championships and silver at the senior Commonwealth Championships. She made her senior world championship debut in 2014 after competing at three editions of the junior world championships, posting a top result of sixth in 2013. Sanghera just missed the podium with her fourth place finish at the 2012 Pan American Championships. She was Canada’s lone weightlifter at the inaugural Youth Olympic Games in 2010. Her father Harnek Sanghera was a weightlifter and national record holder in his native India while her younger sister Snimerdeep also currently competes in the sport.
