Sam Bennett
Biography
Sam Bennett is set to make his Olympic debut at Milano Cortina 2026.
He helped Canada win the 2025 NHL 4 Nations Face-Off, scoring the game-tying goal that would eventually send the final into overtime.
Bennett first represented Canada as a member of the U18 team that won gold at both the 2013 IIHF World U18 Championship and the 2013 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament.
At the end of the 2024-25 season, Bennett won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the MVP of the Stanley Cup playoffs. He led the playoffs with 15 goals as he won a second straight Stanley Cup with the Florida Panthers.
Bennett was selected fourth overall by the Calgary Flames in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. He spent seven seasons with the Flames organization before being traded to Florida in April 2021.
Bennett played junior hockey with the Kingston Frontenacs in the OHL where he was named to the All-Rookie Second Team in 2013. In 2014 he skated with the OHL All-Stars in the Canada/Russia Super Series. A shoulder injury sustained in his first training camp with the Flames in 2014 prevented him from having the opportunity to play at the IIHF World Junior Championship.
