Sydney Carroll

Biography

Sydney Carroll’s Olympic dream was sparked earlier than most – her mother Mary is an Olympic diver who competed for Canada at Barcelona 1992 and is now a national team coach based in Saskatoon. 

A member of the senior national team program since 2020, Carroll helped Canada capture team bronze at the 2023 Pan American Games. She competed at the World Aquatics Championships in 2022, 2023, and 2024. At the latter, she competed in all three team routines as Canada qualified a full team for Paris 2024.

A Little More About Sydney

Getting into the Sport: Started artistic swimming at age 11… Previously did gymnastics, but as her parents coached diving, she decided to try out artistic swimming at the pool… Outside Interests: Studying Education at the University of Saskatchewan… Odds and Ends: Her role model is artistic swimming Olympian Élise Marcotte, who has been a mentor and coach to her throughout her career… Favourite motto:“Leave no stone unturned”… Younger brother Jordan won pommel horse gold in artistic gymnastics at the 2023 Canada Games…
