Tyler Tardi

Biography

Tyler Tardi represented Canada at the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer. Playing third in the mixed team event alongside skip Mary Fay, second Karlee Burgess, and lead Sterling Middleton, Tardi helped Canada win the gold medal. The team went undefeated throughout the round robin and playoffs. Tardi finished fourth in mixed doubles with Japanese partner Honoka Sasaki.

Tardi competed at three straight World Junior Curling Championships in 2017, 2018, and 2019. He skipped the team to back-to-back gold medals in 2018 and 2019.

Ahead of the 2022-23 season, Tardi joined Team Kevin Koe as the third. He was invited to join Team Brad Jacobs as their alternate for the 2025 World Men’s Curling Championship, where they won the bronze medal. He was also their alternate at the 2025 Pan Continental Curling Championships where they won gold.

Tardi skipped Team B.C. to a bronze medal at the 2015 Canada Winter Games in Prince George.

Getting into the Sport: Started curling at age 8 and began competing at age 11… His father and grandfather both curled… Had his Olympic dream sparked watching fellow British Columbia Corryn Brown compete at the Youth Olympic Games… Outside Interests: Enjoys playing board games, whitewater kayaking, playing golf… Works as a freelance motion graphic designer… Odds and Ends: Inspired by Olympic champion Kevin Martin… Never wears matching socks, a superstition he’s had since grade 6 or 7…
