Petro-Canada to Send Olympians' Families to Vancouver in 2010
Petro-Canada, national partner of the Canadian Olympic team, has unveiled a program that will connect Canada’s athletes to their families at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
The Canadian Athlete Family Program will accommodate and host two immediate family members of more than 500 Olympians and Paralympians, providing up to four nights of accommodations, meals and tickets to events.
This program means that Canadian athletes can feel the support and comfort of having their family close by. At the same time, those family members have the chance to share in the Olympic experience – an important recognition since they likely played significant roles in the careers of these skilled athletes. One benefit is that athletes can be spared potential stress and distraction of worrying about the needs of their family.

For more than 20 years, Petro-Canada has been helping Canadian athletes achieve their dreams. The company has donated more than $6 million over that time to more than 2,000 athletes and coaches who are not “carded”, meaning not supported by funds from Sport Canada.
