Double Olympic gold medallist Charles Hamelin (Sainte-Julie, QC) and Olympian Marianne St. Gelais (St. Félicien, QC) each captured a bronze medal in the 1500m race at the 2013 World Championships in Hungary.

Hamelin, a three-time Olympic medallist and multiple time world champion, crossed the line to grab the final place on the podium behind the Korean duo of Da Woon Sin and Yun-Jae Kim, who finished first and second respectively.

A 2010 Olympian and two-time silver medallist, St. Gelais sprinted her way to a bronze behind Hi-Seung Park and Hee Suk Shim, another Korean duo.
