Brayden HeadshotBrayden Schnur was a highly-recruited player when he enrolled at the University of North Carolina in January 2014. He followed up with one of the best freshman seasons in school history, posting a 19-3 singles record and a 19-4 doubles record. He was named Intercollegiate Tennis Association Rookie of the Year and ACC Freshman of the Year. In the fall of 2014 he posted a perfect 11-0 singles record and won the National Indoor Collegiate Championship. Also in 2014, he was also named Canadian Junior Player of the Year by Tennis Canada. Schnur had achieved a career-high junior ranking of 26th in the world in 2013 when he was the boys’ singles champion at the Canadian Open. Also in 2013, he won a gold medal with Team Ontario at the Canada Games where he finished fourth in singles. Schnur’s career high ATP World Tour singles ranking of 456 was achieved in August 2014. His career highlight is qualifying into the main draw of the 2014 Rogers Cup.
