Biography:

Kathryn Robinson is no stranger to the Canadian Eventing Team, having been named to the Short List on multiple occasions. In 2007 she came second at the CIC 1* in Barroca in Portugal, followed by a top 10 finish at Germany’s Kreuth in 2008 in the CCI 2*. In 2011, she placed fourth at the CCI 2* competition in Osberton in the UK and represented Canada at the London Olympic Test Trials in Greenwich, where she jumped triple clear. She and her gelding Let it Bee have been competing at the international level for several seasons, earning notable placings in a number of major international competitions, including finishing 11th in the 2013 CCI 3* at Blair Castle in Scotland, 12th in the Tattersalls CIC 3* in Ireland that same year, and seventh at their CCI 4* level debut in Pau, France in 2014. Robinson and Let It Bee helped Canada win team eventing bronze at the 2015 Pan Am Games in Toronto. The duo made their Olympic debut at Rio 2016.

Family: Robinson’s father John is British and her mother Kathryn is Canadian… Born in Canada but the family later moved to the UK after her father inherited a farm in England… Older brothers Alexander and Mark… Fiancé Giovanni Ugolotti is also her coach and an international eventer for Italy who competed at the 2014 World Equestrian Games; together they run Cranford Stud Eventing… Getting into the Sport: Was a keen member of the Woodland Pytchley Pony Club while growing up; went through the Pony Club tests and competed regularly before taking a break to focus on her studies… Returned to competitive riding when she was 19… Odds and Ends: Nickname: Kit… Also rides race horses… Has a good luck necklace… Always travels with her dogs… Favourite motto: “If you’re not scared you’re not going fast enough”…
