Ouellette, Crosby named Hockey Canada captains for Sochi
On Sunday morning Hockey Canada revealed who will captain the national women’s and men’s ice hockey teams in Sochi as the two sides set out to defend their respective Olympic Winter Games titles.
Three-time Olympic champion Caroline Ouellette will captain the women’s hockey team in Russia.
Sidney Crosby has been selected to lead the men’s team.
At Vancouver 2010, Ouellette had two goals and nine assists over five games. Her 11 points tied her with fellow three-time Olympic champion Hayley Wickenheiser for third in team scoring at the tournament.
Crosby scored the memorable overtime golden goal that clinched the Olympic title for Canadian men over the United States in Vancouver. He had four goals and seven points in as many games at the 2010 Olympic ice hockey tournament.
The Canadian Olympic Team will reveal its flag bearer for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games opening ceremony on Thursday, January 23.
