Tennis star Milos Raonic reaches semifinals in Rome
For the first time this season, Canadian tennis star Milos Raonic has clinched a final four spot.
The Thornhill, Ontario native defeated Jeremy Chardy from France Friday in three sets 6-3, 5-7, 6-2 to set up a semifinal Italian Open matchup in Rome against Novak Djokovic.
Raonic paved his way to the quarter finals by ousting Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 7-6 (5), 6-4. The two had faced each other previously at the 2012 London Olympics where Tsonga eventually bested Raonic in a memorable marathon match.
Milos Raonic, number eight seed, will go up against number two Novak Djokovic on Saturday.
