Peter Mai takes silver at FINA Diving Grand Prix in Italy
Team Canada’s Peter Mai captured a silver medal in the 3m springboard final at the FINA Diving Grand Prix in Bolzano, Italy on Saturday afternoon.
Mai finished the day in second after posting a combined score of 386.90 points on six dives.
This is Mai’s first international podium this diving season. Though, he was was previously crowned the 3m Canadian Champion earlier this year.
He was joined on the podium with Colombia’s Sebastian Morales who put up a gold-worthy score of 447.25 points. The host-country’s Lorenzo Marsaglia came in third place 385.25 – just 1.65 points shy of the Canadians.
On the women’s side, Celina Toth competed in the women’s 10 platform final, where she finished fifth place respectively.
The competition will continue throughout the weekend and finish on Sunday.
