Nicole Maurer
Biography
Nicole Maurer is set to make her Olympic debut at Milano Cortina 2026.
Maurer made her FIS World Cup debut in February 2017 at the Olympic test event for PyeongChang 2018. She posted her career-best individual result on the circuit in February 2025 when she finished 16th in Hinzenbach. That was one of three top 20 performances she earned that month. She ended the 2024-25 season ranked 28th in the World Cup standings, a career-high.
Maurer has competed at three senior FIS World Championships, starting with her debut in 2017 when she was just 17 years old. In 2023 she was part of a sixth-place finish in the women’s team normal hill with Alexandria Loutitt, Abigail Strate, and Natalie Eilers. She finished inside the top 25 in both individual events at the 2025 World Championships, highlighted by her 21st place result in the normal hill.
Maurer represented Canada at four FIS Junior World Championships (2016, 2017, 2018, 2020).
A Little More About Nicole
Getting into the Sport: Start ski jumping at age 5… Entered her first FIS-level competition in 2015… Outside Interests: Enjoys playing volleyball with friends in a rec league, reading books about physics and astronomy… Would like to work in the space industry after completing her degree in astrophysics and computer science at the University of Calgary… Off-season hobbies include kayaking, rafting, hiking… Supports her ski jumping career with several jobs, including as a receptionist at a senior care facility and doing remote data entry and invoicing for multiple companies… Odds and Ends: Looks up to former teammate and Canadian Olympian Atsuko Tanaka as a role model…
