TEAM CANADA INSIGHTS:
LONG TRACK SPEED SKATING
- On Day 8, Antoine Gélinas-Beaulieu, Gilmore Junio and Laurent Dubreuil will look to win Canada’s first Olympic medal in the men’s 500m in 24 years (Silver –Jeremy Wotherspoon, Kevin Overland – Bronze; Nagano 1998).
SNOWBOARD
- Canada will compete in the inaugural snowboard cross mixed event on Day 8, including the team of Éliot Grondin and Meryeta O’Dine who won silver and bronze in their respective individual snowboard cross events and the tandem of Liam Moffatt and Tess Critchlow.
SKI JUMPING
- Mackenzie Boyd-Clowes and Matthew Soukup will compete on Day 8 in the men’s individual large hill event. Boyd-Clowes and Soukup were part of the team that won Canada’s first ever Olympic medal in ski jumping.
COVID-19 UPDATE:
Currently none of the 495 members of the Team Canada delegation in Beijing are in COVID-19 isolation.
