Canadian Olympic Committee Certified as a Great Place to Work®
TORONTO (February 6, 2020) — The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) is proud to announce that it has been certified as a Great Place to Work® after a thorough and independent analysis conducted by Great Place to Work® Institute Canada. This certification is based on direct feedback from employees, provided as part of an extensive and anonymous survey about the workplace experience.
Great Place to Work® survey results showed that COC’s employees feel respected at work, enjoy their colleagues, and feel pride in what they do. The COC has focused on fostering a purpose-led and high-performance culture by creating powerful opportunities to grow and develop professionally and bring fun and creativity into work every day. Employees also get the opportunity to be part of the Mission Team during Youth Olympic, Pan American and Olympic Games as well as national and international travel.
“Since joining the COC, I have been amazed by the talented workforce that not only supports Team Canada athletes worldwide, but also promotes Olympism in our country. They are dedicated and hardworking individuals who, much like our athletes, are at the top of their game in their respective fields,” said David Shoemaker, COC Chief Executive Officer and Secretary General. “I am proud of the work culture that we have built together which is based on our core shared values of accountability, bravery, excellence, fun, and respect.”
The COC is continuously investing in programs to optimize employee performance and engagement that are aligned with best practices.
The COC along with the Canadian Olympic Foundation has 114 permanent employees that work out of three offices in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.
