Canadian Olympic Committee now ranked among the Best Workplaces™ in Canada

TORONTO (April 14, 2020) — The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) is proud to be ranked among the Best Workplaces™ in Canada as per the national rankings through the Great Place to Work® Institute Canada.

After being certified as a Great Place to Work® in late 2020, the COC has now earned a No. 35 ranking in the 100-999 employee category nationwide based on the results of our 2019 Trust Index© annual survey results and an assessment of our people programs and processes by the Great Place to Work® Institute Canada. The Best Workplaces™ in Canada will be published as a Special National Report in The Globe and Mail on April 17, 2020.

Based on direct feedback about their workplace experience, COC employees feel respected at work, enjoy their job, and feel pride in what they do. The COC has focused on fostering a purpose-led and high-performance culture by creating powerful opportunities to grow and develop professionally and bring fun and creativity into work every day. Employees also get the opportunity to be part of the Mission Team during Youth Olympic, Pan American and Olympic Games as well as travel nationally and internationally.

“It’s great to see that the dedication and commitment of our leaders and staff has helped foster a work environment now being recognized as one of the very best in Canada,” said David Shoemaker, COC Chief Executive Officer and Secretary General. “This past month has further proven what we are capable of doing as a team under any circumstance. I am very proud of the work culture that we have built together which is based on our core shared values of Accountability, Bravery, Excellence, Fun, and Respect.”

The COC is continuously investing in programs to optimize employee performance and engagement that are aligned with best practices.

The COC along with the Canadian Olympic Foundation has 114 permanent employees that work out of three offices in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.
