McCain Foods and Canadian Olympic Committee Announce New Partnership
TORONTO (January 29, 2026) — Today, the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) and McCain Foods announced a new partnership, naming McCain the Official French Fry Partner of Team Canada through Milano Cortina 2026 and Los Angeles 2028. This partnership brings together two iconic Canadian brands who each have a longstanding history of bringing communities and families together. This long-term commitment is designed to create a lasting impact for Team Canada athletes and the broader Canadian sport system for years to come.
As part of this new partnership, McCain is launching a nationwide initiative celebrating “golden” Olympic moments that unite Canadians, both on and off the podium, reinforcing that Cheering Together Is Golden. The McCain Golden Gallery is a digital platform that aims to create the biggest cheer for Team Canada by collecting videos, photos, and messages of support from Canadians across the country. Canadians from coast to coast to coast can get their cheers included in the McCain Golden Gallery, from the Opening Ceremony on February 6th to the Closing Ceremony on February 22nd, by sharing and tagging @McCainCanada on social, in exchange for a digital coupon for a free McCain fries product.
Throughout the Games, those in Toronto can visit the McCain FryDay Fanzone: an immersive, Team Canada-themed pop-up space located at 2 Queen Street West. Visitors of the McCain FryDay Fanzone can record videos and snap photos of support in one of two eye-catching Cheer Pods that will be featured in the McCain Golden Gallery, and enjoy complimentary McCain fry dishes inspired by the upcoming Games.
Canadians can also look out for a McCain commercial playing throughout the Games featuring Team Canada alpine skier Laurence St-Germain and her father.
“McCain has long believed that the simplest moments — like sharing a plate of fries — can bring people together,” says Mike Embir, Marketing Director at McCain Foods. “The Olympic Games create those same shared moments of pride and connection. As a proudly Canadian company, we’re honoured to partner with the Canadian Olympic Committee to help Canadians come together from coast to coast to coast to cheer on Team Canada, one moment — and one golden fry — at a time.”
“We are thrilled to welcome McCain to Team Canada ahead of Milano Cortina 2026,” said Jacqueline Ryan, Chief Brand and Commercial Officer of the COC and CEO of the Canadian Olympic Foundation. “This is an exciting new partnership with an iconic Canadian brand, and we can’t wait to see the lasting impact this partnership will have on all Team Canada athletes and on sport in Canada.”
