Aurélie Tran

Biography

Aurélie Tran booked her ticket to make her Olympic debut at Paris 2024 by finishing second behind Ellie Black in the all-around competition at the 2024 Canadian Championships. She also captured silver medals on uneven bars, balance beam, and floor.

Tran made her senior debut in 2022, but was forced to miss most of the season after tearing her achilles tendon early in the year. When she returned to competition in 2023, she quickly made a name for herself, capturing the all-around title at the 2023 Elite Canada competition and at the 2023 Canadian Championships.

Named to her first FIG World Championships team in 2023, Tran contributed scores on all four apparatus to help the team to a 12^th-place finish. Later that fall, she competed at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games where she again competed on all four apparatus, helping the team to a bronze medal. She qualified for three apparatus finals and the all-around final. She would go on to finish seventh in the all-around, fifth on the uneven bars, fifth on the floor exercise, and eighth on the balance beam.

Tran had a breakout year in 2021, earning the Elite Canada junior title and the Canadian Junior Championships title. She was later selected to represent Canada at the 2021 Junior Pan American Games, where she had the honour of being Canada’s flag bearer for the Opening Ceremony alongside badminton player Brian Yang. She would go on to capture a bronze medal in the individual all-around competition and a silver medal on uneven bars.
