Ben Hebert
Team Canada Medal Count
Biography
Ben Hebert is a two-time Olympian and an Olympic gold medallist. He is also a two-time world champion and five-time Brier champion.
With Team Martin
Hebert was the lead on the team skipped by Kevin Martin that went undefeated en route to Olympic gold at Vancouver 2010. He had played alongside Martin, third John Morris and second Marc Kennedy since the 2006-07 season. They won back-to-back Brier titles in 2008 and 2009, winning the world title in 2008 followed by world championship silver the next year.
With Team Koe
After the 2013-14 season, Hebert and Kennedy joined forces with skip Kevin Koe and second Brent Laing, shifting Kennedy into the third position. After finishing fifth at the 2015 Brier, they won their first national title together in 2016, going on to win the world title. As Team Canada, they were the runners-up at the 2017 Brier. Hebert played at that national championship with a torn meniscus in his right knee, the one he uses to push out of the hack. He underwent surgery at the end of the season.
At the 2017 Canadian Curling Trials. Team Koe finished atop the round robin standings to earn the bye into the final, where they defeated Team Mike McEwen. At PyeongChang 2018, they posted a 6-3 record in the round robin to get into the playoffs, ultimately finishing fourth overall.
Hebert continued to play on a team skipped by Koe for four more seasons. In 2018-19, with B.J. Neufeld and Colton Flasch rounding out the team, they went undefeated to win the Brier. They went on to win silver at the 2019 World Men’s Curling Championship.
After back-to-back runner-up finishes at the Brier in 2021 and 2022, the team announced they would be disbanding.
With Team Jacobs
For the 2022-23 season, Hebert reunited with Kennedy as they formed a team with Brendan Bottcher at skip and Brett Gallant at second. Ahead of the 2024-25 season, Brad Jacobs came aboard, replacing Bottcher as skip.
The foursome had an impressive first season together, finishing second at two Grand Slam events before becoming Brier champions. At the 2025 World Men’s Curling Championship, they went 11-1 in the round robin but lost to eventual world champions Scotland (skipped by Bruce Mouat) in the semifinals. They rebounded to defeat China 11-2 in the bronze medal game.
As Team Canada, they competed at the 2025 Pan Continental Curling Championships. After going 7-0 in the round robin, they went on to win the gold medal.
