Bo Horvat

Biography

Bo Horvat is set to make his Olympic debut at Milano Cortina 2026. He has twice been part of Team Canada at the IIHF World Championship, in 2018 and 2025. He scored four goals in six games at the latter, tying him for second on the team.

Horvat made his international debut as a captain of Team Ontario at the 2012 World U17 Hockey Challenge, winning a bronze medal. Later that year he was an assistant captain as the Canadian U18 team won gold at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament. He was on the fourth-place U20 team at the 2014 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Horvat was drafted ninth overall by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut in November 2014 and was named team captain in October 2019. He would wear the ‘C’ until a trade to the New York Islanders in January 2023. He was named assistant captain in New York in 2024.

He played junior hockey with the London Knights, winning two OHL titles and being named Playoff MVP in 2013. In 2014 he skated with the OHL All-Stars in the Canada/Russia Super Series. He competed for Team Ontario at the 2011 Canada Winter Games.
