Emma Misak

Biography

Emma Misak (aka B-Girl Emma) was part of history at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires when she won silver in breaking’s debut at the multi-sport event. She so enjoyed the experience that she wanted to try to qualify for the Olympic Games.

Misak competed at her first adult WDSF World Championships in 2021. In 2023, she placed seventh at the WDSF Pan American Championships.

Misak has recorded two top-five finishes in Breaking for Gold event, placing fourth at a Challenge Series event in Montreal in September 2022 and fifth at an International Series event in Montreal in June 2023.

Getting into the Sport: Started breaking in 2014 when she was 14 years old… Was in a dance class at her high school and took an interest in the breaking session… Entered her first battle after just four months of breaking… Outside Interests: Enjoys listening to podcasts… Studying sport science at Douglas College… Odds and Ends: Use meditation and relaxing music to stay calm ahead of competitions…
