Hallie Clarke
Biography
Hallie Clarke is set to make her Olympic debut at Milano Cortina 2026. She was previously part of Team Canada at the Lausanne 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games.
Clarke is the first athlete to ever hold both the senior and junior ISBF World Championship titles at the same time. In 2024, she became the youngest world champion ever in women’s skeleton at 19 years old. She added the gold medal at the junior world championships in 2025. She had previously been the U20 world champion in 2023.
Clarke debuted on the IBSF World Cup circuit during the 2022-23 season. At the time, she was competing for the United States where she had lived for 13 years. She finished second in her first very first World Cup race, which was at the Whistler Sliding Centre. She added another second-place finish later in the season in Innsbruck and then finished 10th in her senior world championship debut. Clarke rejoined the Canadian national team program for the 2023-24 season.
Clarke began competing in senior international events during the 2021-22 season, racing on the developmental North American Cup and Intercontinental Cup circuits, earning numerous podium results.
A Little More About Hallie
Getting into the Sport: Started in skeleton at age 14 and began competing the following year… Grew up doing figure skating and has wanted to compete at the Olympic Games since watching Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir win ice dance gold at Vancouver 2010… Outside Interests: Ambassador with Kidsport Calgary and the Breakfast Club of Canada, as well as an Athlete Mentor with Classroom Champions… Studying Health Sciences at Queen’s University… Would like to pursue a career in the medical field… Enjoys painting as a way to de-stress during the season; often paints memorable pictures of her teammates… Odds and Ends: Always wears the same socks for every race day (lululemon pride socks that she received before her first World Cup race)… Favourite motto: “Don’t ever let your memories be bigger than your dreams” -Jim Craig…
