Maïa Schwinghammer
Biography
Maïa Schwinghammer is set to make her Olympic debut at Milano Cortina 2026.
Schwinghammer enjoyed the best season of her career in 2024-25. She won the bronze medal in moguls at the FIS World Championships. She finished third in the FIS World Cup moguls standings and fourth in the combined moguls/dual moguls standings. She earned three World Cup podiums during the season, all in moguls, including her first career World Cup victory, which came in front of home fans in Val St-Côme, Quebec in January 2025.
Schwinghammer’s first World Cup podium was a second-place finish in dual moguls in Bakuriani, Georgia in December 2023. She has been competing full time on the World Cup circuit since the 2019-20 season. She advanced to her first moguls super final in a World Cup event when she finished fifth in Val St-Côme in January 2023. She also reached the second final round of moguls at the 2023 FIS World Championships where she placed fifth. She was a quarterfinalist in dual moguls at the 2023 Worlds.
Schwinghammer’s first major international event was the 2018 FIS Junior World Championships where she won silver in dual moguls and was sixth in moguls.
She began competing in Nor-Am Cup events in 2017. She earned four podiums during the 2021-22 season and finished third in the Nor-Am Cup moguls standings.

Getting into the Sport: Started skiing by being towed behind a snowmobile on Christopher Lake in Saskatchewan… Her family eventually started making weekend trips to Canada Olympic Park in Calgary… Earned a spot on the national team in 2018 at age 16…
