Michael Winter
Biography
Michael Winter and his horse El Mundo helped Canada win team eventing gold at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games, which qualified a full eventing team for Canada for Paris 2024. Winter finished fifth in individual eventing in Santiago. He had previously competed in the Pan Am Games at Rio 2007, winning team eventing silver. He also won team eventing silver at the 2003 Pan American Eventing Championships when eventing was not included at the 2003 Pan Am Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Winter will make his return to the Olympic Games at Paris 2024, having last appeared in Olympic competition 16 years earlier. He competed at Athens 20024 with Balista and Beijing 2008 with King Pin.
Winter and El Mundo represented Canada at the 2022 FEI Eventing World Championships.
