  • Has been competing internationally since 2011 when she debuted at the IFSC Youth World Championships
  • Competed in her first IFSC World Cup event in Toronto in 2014
  • Debuted at the senior IFSC World Championships in 2018

A Little More About Rebecca

Getting into the Sport: Began climbing at a summer camp in Canmore, Alberta at the age of 10; started competing at age 12… Outside interests: Loves skiing, mountain biking and trail running…Volunteers with the Canadian Mental Health Association as a peer navigator… Works part-time as a community-based support worker for children with disabilities… Graduated from University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology in 2021… Supports Fast and Female as a Real Role Model… Odds and Ends: Her twin sister Sara also climbed at the international level during her youth career… Inspired by Olympians Chandra Crawford, Sara Renner, and Beckie Scott who were all from Canmore… Always travels with her watermelon stuffed animal… Favourite motto: “Aerodynamically, the bumblebee should not be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn’t know that, so it goes on flying anyways.”
