Biography:

Sandra Levy is a two-time Olympian who competed at Seoul 1988 and Barcelona 1992.

As an 11-year veteran of the women’s national field hockey team, Levy was a silver medallist at the 1991 Pan American Games in Havana, four years after winning bronze at the 1987 Pan American Games in Indianapolis.

Levy went on to be a member of the mission team at the 1998 Olympic Winter Games in Nagano.  On March 20, 2014 Levy was introduced as Canadian Chef de Mission for the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games.

Levy’s continuing involvement with the Olympic movement includes: member of the COC’s Legal Committee, the Director of Special Projects for the Toronto 2008 Olympic Bid Corporation and member of the Board of Directors and Chair of Human Resources Committee with the Toronto 2015 Pan American/Parapan American Games Organizing Committee.

Levy has received numerous awards and accolades, including the African Canadian Achievement Award of Excellence in 2008 and the Johnny F. Basset Award for Sporting Excellence and Community Values in 2000. In 2003 she was inducted to the York University Sport Hall of Fame.
