Hudson’s Bay

Hudson’s Bay Company (HBC), founded in 1670, is North America’s longest continually operated company.  HBC’s rich Canadian heritage is complemented by a long history supporting the Olympic movement in Canada making them the ideal partner for the Canadian Olympic Team, which is synonymous with national pride and athletics.

HBC first supported Canada’s Olympic athletes at the 1936 Olympic Winter Games in Garmisch-Partenkirchen as well as Squaw Valley in 1960, Innsbruck in 1964 and Grenoble in 1968.  HBC became a Premier National Partner of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games and the Canadian Olympic Team in 2005, providing Team Canada’s uniforms for the Torino, Beijing, Vancouver and London Olympic Games.  During the 2010 Winter Games, HBC operated the most successful Olympic Superstore and retail program in Winter Olympic history.

In October 2011, HBC announced that they had renewed their sponsorship commitment to Canada’s Olympic Team.  HBC’s eight-year commitment as the Canadian Olympic Team’s Official Outfitter spans from 2013 to 2020, covering all Olympic, Olympic Winter, Pan American and Youth Olympic Games.  HBC for decades has shown their commitment to sport in Canada and are dedicated to helping our athletes achieve their goals.  Since 2006, Hudson’s Bay has proudly donated more than $35 million to support Canadian athletes through the Canadian Olympic Foundation and other national sport organizations and initiatives.
