Reid Coolsaet competed at his first Olympic Games in 2012 and finished 27th in the men’s marathon.

Coolsaet qualified for the 2012 Olympic Games after finishing third in the Toronto Waterfront Marathon on October 16, 2011, with a time of 2:10:55. In 2010, he knocked more than five minutes off his personal best at the same race, recording a time of 2:11:22 hours for tenth place.

His first attempt at the marathon came in 2009 to win a national championship. At the IAAF Worlds in Berlin the same year he finished in 25th spot.
