“Congratulations to everyone involved in this success: the players for their inspired play, the coaches who prepared the team for greatness, and the Canadian Soccer Association for assembling a world-class team,” said Canadian Olympic Committee President Marcel Aubut. “They are now on the road to London and I am proud to welcome them to the 2012 Canadian Olympic Team.”
Canadian Soccer Association President, Dr. Dominic Maestracci quickly commended the team on their success.
“Canada’s Women’s National Team’s performance in this tournament has been nothing short of inspiring,” said Maestracci. “The Canadian Soccer Association is delighted to see their efforts rewarded and will continue to support them on their way to the London Olympic Games.”
Canada’s Coach, John Herdman showed extreme pride in his squad. “This is an outstanding team of women and they have worked phenomenally hard to reach this point,” said Herdman. “They have what it takes to go for gold in London.”
