Raising an Olympian: Joan Montgomery stressed the positive
Jon Montgomery gave Canada a gold medal in the men’s skeleton and an iconic celebration (image above) that helped define an undaunted Canadian spirit at the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver.
Behind his march to the top step of the podium were countless hours of hard work and at times, disappointment. His mother Joan stressed that Jon must find the positive during difficult days and that’s exactly what the Olympic champion did en route to greatness.
