Moguls stars win four World Cup medals at Lake Placid
First they conquered the slopes of Sochi, then Canada’s freestyle skiers slayed Dragons at home, and on Thursday they grabbed four more World Cup medals in moguls.
In Lake Placid, New York at the fifth moguls World Cup event of the season, Olympic champion Justine Dufour-Lapointe won the day for the women’s team, while teammate Andi Naude grabbed her first podium position taking home bronze.

On the men’s side, Olympic silver medallist Mikael Kingsbury grabbed gold. His Sochi 2014 teammate Marc-Antoine Gagnon joined him on the podium with a bronze medal.
For Dufour-Lapointe, it was her fourth consecutive World Cup podium and second straight gold this season. Kingsbury has now won four-straight World Cup events on the current calendar.
Alexandr Smyshlyaev of Russia won the men’s silver medal, while American Hanna Kearney finished between the Canadians in the women’s event.

The results for the Canadian skiers came a day after the Canadian Freestyle Ski Association made a pitch on the hit CBC business program, Dragons’ Den, for a four-year funding plan (scroll down to watch the video). The show’s panel consists of investors that entertain business plans from entrepreneurs for investment opportunities. One of the investors, Michael Wekerle, stepped in for a four-year, two million dollar deal. The program was shot last April when CFSA came back from Sochi with an incredible seven of Canada 25 Olympic medals.
The World Cup moves back to Canada next in Saint-Côme, Québec on February 7.
