This event will be the largest multi-sport and cultural event to ever be held in Prince George and northern British Columbia and is forecasted to generate an economic impact of over $90 million while building champions and inspiring dreams amongst Canadian youth.

The Canadian Olympic Foundation has invested $250,000 in the Canada Games as part of its commitment to the next generation of high-performance athletes.

Canadian Olympic bronze-medallist and Canada Winter Games alumnus Deidra Dionne recently discussed her experience at the Canada Games – and how it provided her with the skills and preparation she needed to accelerate her skiing career.

‘We put so much emphasis on winning Olympic medals when it matters. The Canada Games is an athlete’s first experience in a high-pressure situation where you have to win a medal on demand. It’s really important that the Canadian Olympic Foundation has come forward and identified that athletes need supporting all the way from the Canada Games and onwards to the Olympic podium.”
