‘We put so much emphasis on winning Olympic medals when it matters. The Canada Games is an athlete’s first experience in a high-pressure situation where you have to win a medal on demand. It’s really important that the Canadian Olympic Foundation has come forward and identified that athletes need supporting all the way from the Canada Games and onwards to the Olympic podium.”
