Two records in two races, that’s the kind of form world silver medallist Melissa Bishop is in at the moment.

On Saturday in Glasgow, Scotland, Bishop ran the 800 metres in two minutes, 0.19 seconds, a new Canadian indoor women’s record set at the final meet of the IAAF World Indoor Tour.

The old record? Also Bishop’s, set only two days earlier in Athlone, Ireland at 2:00.60.

In the last year Bishop has amassed an unprecedented catalogue of accolades in Canadian middle distance running. She won Pan Am Games gold at Toronto 2015, set the national outdoor record at 1:57.52 in Beijing, before winning world championship silver on her next race.

Bishop made her Olympic debut for Canada at London 2012.
