This past season Canada finished third in the women’s World Rugby Sevens Series, and second in its previous go. This is a team that has unapologetically mixed it up with traditional powers New Zealand, Australia and England on tour.

One of those tough opponents, Great Britain (with England locking up their Olympic spot), will be in Canada’s group, as will host nation Brazil and Japan (which will welcome the world to the next summer Games in Tokyo).
