Thompson wins ski cross gold and Leman secures silver, again

Marielle Thompson and Brady Leman repeated their ski cross finishes from the World Cups in Val Thorens, taking home gold and silver medals in Arosa.

At the World Cup double header last weekend, Thompson clinched the first ski cross gold of the season. The Olympic champion topped the podium once again, winning the women’s World Cup event in Arosa. Poland’s Karolina Riemen-Zerebecka grabbed silver, finishing just ahead of Ophelie David of France. After three stops Thompson is ranked second in the overall World Cup rankings, just behind Sweden’s Anna Holmlund.

In the men’s event Brady Leman earned his second straight World Cup silver of the season. The Canadian finished behind Romain Detraz who won the men’s event on home snow in Switzerland. Jean Frederic Chapuis completed the podium taking bronze in Tuesday’s competition

Next up Canadian will head to the fourth stop on the World Cup circuit in Montafon, Austria.
