Sophia Jensen wins C-1 200m silver at Canoe Sprint World Championships in Poland
Sophia Jensen adds another major podium finish to her standout 2026 season on Sunday, capturing silver in the women’s C-1 200m final at the 2026 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Poznań, Poland.
The 24-year-old from Chelsea, Que. clocked a time of 40.90 seconds to earn her silver medal in the Olympic-program event.
Ukraine’s Liudmyla Luzan won gold in 44.40, while American Nevin Harrison took bronze in 45.04.
Jensen also claimed her first world title on Saturday, winning gold in the women’s C1 500m final.
The Paris 2024 Olympian has been a consistent presence on the international podium this season, earning medals at all three ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup stops.
Jensen opened the season with silver in the C-1 500m in Szeged, Hungary, before adding bronze in the C-1 500m and silver in the C-2 200m in Brandenburg, Germany.

She continued her medal run at the Montréal World Cup, winning silver in both the C-1 500m and C-1 200m. The Montréal event marked the first World Cup held outside Europe in 25 years and the first ever staged in Canada.
