Media availability for Team Canada’s Milano Cortina 2026 long track speed skating athletes in Calgary and Quebec City

TORONTO (January 8, 2026) – On Thursday, January 15, the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) and Speed Skating Canada (SSC) will officially announce Team Canada’s long track speed skating athletes that will be nominated for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games. Media are invited to attend for interview, photo and b-roll opportunities.

The events will include a short presentation with remarks from COC and SSC leadership, followed by a Team Canada jacket ceremony. After the Team Announcements, media will have the opportunity to speak with the Milano Cortina-bound athletes and coaches.

Media are asked to RSVP to Tara MacBournie (tmacbournie@olympic.ca) for the Calgary event, and Alain Brouillette (abrouillette@speedskating.ca), and Arianne Cloux (acloux@olympic.ca) for the Quebec City event. Note that some athletes who will be named to the team will not be in attendance due to training schedules.
