Media Registration now open for WADA’s first Global Athlete Forum from 3-5 June in Calgary, Canada

MONTREAL (May 31, 2018) – As announced on 14 March 2018, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) will hold its first Global Athlete Forum at the Westin Hotel in Calgary, Canada, from 3-5 June 2018. Hosted by the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) with the support of the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES), the Forum will convene over 120 athlete leaders from around the world under the theme ‘The Sport we Want’ to discuss key developments in anti-doping, including current issues and concerns such as athlete rights.

In keeping with the Agenda, which can be found on the Forum website, media are free to attend the opening ceremony and remarks to be made by WADA Athlete Committee Chair, Beckie Scott, on 4 June starting at 09:00; and, the media conference on 5 June at 14:00 that will be hosted by Ms. Scott and other athlete leaders. There will be opportunity for one-on-one interviews at the conclusion of the media conference.

Please note that the Forum discussions themselves are only open to Forum delegates.

Media that wish to attend the designated media activities referenced above, are kindly asked to accredit themselves by contacting Maggie Durand, Manager, Media Relations and Communications, WADA, as outlined below no later than 08:00 (MDT) on 4 June 2018.
