Paris 2024: Team Canada at the end of Day 10
PARIS (August 5, 2024) – Day 10 at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games has come to a close. Here is what you need to know.
TEAM CANADA’S CURRENT MEDAL COUNT:
GOLD: 5 | SILVER: 4 | BRONZE: 8 | TOTAL: 17

TEAM CANADA INSIGHTS:
ATHLETICS:
- Alysha Newman (Delaware, Ont.) advanced to the women’s pole vault final.
- Jean-Simon Desgagnés (Saint-Ferréol-les-Neiges, Que.) advanced to the final of the men’s 3000m steeplechase.
3×3 BASKETBALL:
- Canada’s women’s 3×3 basketball team finished in fourth place in their first Olympic appearance. 3×3 made its Olympic debut at Tokyo 2020, but no Canadian teams qualified for the tournaments.
BEACH VOLLEYBALL:
- Melissa Humana-Paredes (Toronto, Ont.) and Brandie Wilkerson (Toronto, Ont.) advanced to the women’s beach volleyball quarterfinals with a straight sets win over Team USA’s Taryn Kloth and Kristen Nuss today.
CYCLING – TRACK:
- Canada finished eighth in the women’s team sprint, matching its best Olympic result set at Rio 2016.
