Andrew Nembhard
Biography
Andrew Nembhard first played with the Senior Men’s National Team at the 2019 FIBA Americas World Cup Qualifiers, helping Canada win their group and secure a spot at the global tournament. Nembhard appeared in five games at the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup where Canada finished 21st.
As a junior, Nembhard was a two-time silver medallist in age group FIBA Americas Championships. He was named to the All-Tournament Team at the 2018 FIBA Americas U18 Championship, leading all players in assists and steals. He had also competed at the 2015 FIBA Americas U16 Championship. At the 2016 FIBA U17 World Championship, he led the team in assists en route to a fifth-place finish.
Nembhard began his collegiate career at the University of Florida and was named to the 2019 SEC All-Freshman Team. He transferred to Gonzaga and won back-to-back WCC Tournament titles in 2021 and 2022, earning Most Outstanding Player honours at the latter. In his junior year in 2020-21 he was awarded the WCC’s Sixth Man of the Year and named to the All-WCC Second Team. As a senior in 2021-22 he was named to the All-WCC First Team and helped the Bulldogs reach the final at the NCAA Championships.
He was selected 31st overall by the Indiana Pacers in the 2022 NBA Draft and made his debut that fall.
