Bryden Hattie

Biography

Bryden Hattie first represented Canada at a multi-sport event in 2018 when he competed at both the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia and the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina. 

He made his first appearance at the World Aquatics Championships in 2019 where he competed in the 10m platform. Over the next couple of years, he switched his focus to competing in springboard events internationally, which he did at the 2022 and 2023 World Aquatics Championships, as well as at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. 

Hattie won two World Aquatics Diving World Cup medals in 2023, both in the mixed team 3m & 10m event. He was Canada’s entry for the men’s 3m, alongside teammates Pamela Ware (women’s 3m), Caeli McKay (women’s 10m), and Nathan Zsombor-Murray (men’s 10m). They won silver in Montreal in early May, followed by gold at the Super Final in early August. 

Hattie competes collegiately for the University of Tennessee where he is a five-time All-American. As a junior in 2023, he was named SEC Diver of the Year after winning gold at the conference championships in the 3m springboard and the platform. He also claimed 1m springboard silver. At the 2023 NCAA Championships, Hattie was the runner-up on the platform, the second straight year he placed in the top three in the event.
