David Sharpe

An unexpected member of the 2012 Canadian Olympic Team, David Sharpe swam in the 200m butterfly in his first appearance on the Olympic stage, finishing 31st.

During qualifying action for the 2012 team in Montreal, Sharpe delivered a stand-out performance to win the final out of Lane 8 and dipped under the qualifying standard.

The Halifax resident and student at Dalhousie University represented Canada at the 2009 and 2011 World University Games. He is a Canada Games, Eastern Canadian and Canadian Interuniversity Sport swimming champion.

Sharpe started swimming competitively at the age of seven with the Halifax Trojans.
