Erin Attwell

Biography

Erin Attwell has been a member of the Canadian women’s team pursuit at several major competitions in recent years, including at the UCI World Championships in 2021, 2022, and 2023.

Attwell competed in her first Pan American Games at Lima 2019 where she helped Canada win silver in the women’s team pursuit. She was named to Team Canada for Santiago 2023 but was injured a few weeks before the Games began and was unable to compete. While out for a training ride, she was hit by a car head on and though she was lucky not to have broken any bones, her right knee required rehab.

Attwell was set to be part of the Canadian women’s team pursuit at the first UCI Nations Cup of 2024. But during pre-event training in Adelaide, Australia in early February, she broke her collarbone, requiring surgery. Upon recovery, she re-joined the team at the UCI Nations Cup at home in Milton, Ontario in mid-April and was part of Canada’s fourth-place finish in the women’s team pursuit.

Attwell debuted on track cycling’s elite international circuit in 2018, when it was the UCI World Cup. Later that year, she helped Canada win bronze in the women’s team pursuit at the Pan American Championships.

In her debut at the UCI Track World Championships in 2021, Attwell helped Canada to a fourth-place finish in the women’s team pursuit. The month before, she was part of a gold medal in the women’s team pursuit at the UCI Nations Cup in Cali, Colombia. She also helped Canada win women’s team pursuit gold at the 2023 Pan American Championships.
