Félix Roussel
Biography
Félix Roussel is set to make his Olympic debut at Milano Cortina 2026.
At the 2025 ISU World Short Track Championships, Roussel helped Canada win gold in the final of the men’s 5000m relay. He also raced in the quarterfinals and semifinals of the mixed relay in which Canada would win gold.
Roussel made his ISU World Cup debut in the fall of 2022 after an unusual off-season. He had sustained a concussion in March 2022, which led to him not being named to the senior national team. Too old for the NextGen team, he was instead invited to train with the women’s national team over the summer, an environment in which he improved and found great motivation for the national championships that fall.
He earned his first individual World Cup podium later that season, winning 1000m bronze in Dresden in February. He capped off the 2022-23 season by making his debut at the ISU World Short Track Championships.
Roussel achieved another career milestone in Dresden in February 2024 when he earned his first individual World Cup victory, winning 500m gold. He ended the 2023-24 season ranked fifth in the overall World Cup standings.
Roussel helped the Canadian Ice Maples win back-to-back team Crystal Globes on the ISU Short Track World Tour in 2024-25 and 2025-26. Individually, he contributed one gold medal in 2024-25 and one silver medal in 2025-26.
