Sailor Greg Douglas finished in 15th place in the Finn class in London while representing Canada at the Olympic Games for the first time.
At the age of 18, and as the youngest sailor in his Laser class, he competed for his native Barbados at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, finishing 43rd. He was the only Barbadian sailor to participate in those Games.
As a former Laser sailor, he switched to the Finn class after being inspired by 2008 Olympian Chris Cook in 2009, and went on to finish 11th at the 2011 Olympic test event.
Douglas has competed in numerous Youth World Championships with a top finish of 20th in 2007.
Formerly a student at Lakefield College School in Lakefield, ON, the Canadian Yachting Association named Douglas their 2009 Rookie of the Year.
